Northern Michigander’s Easy Peasy Guide to Comparing Your Prescription Plan Options for 2021

Below is an instruction guide of how to chose your own prescription plan online. If you’re not tech savvy, have questions, or are nervous about this, give us a call.

Step 1

Go to Medicare.gov and select “Log In/Create an account”.

Step 2

Once you have logged in, click on the tab that says: “My Plans and Programs”, then the tab, “Find and Compare”.

Step 3

Once you have clicked on “Find and Compare”, the next screen will ask you “What type of 2021 coverage do you want?” Click on “Drug Plan Part D.” Also, add your zip code and county of residence.

Step 4

The next screen will ask you to verify your drugs listed, including any new medications. Verify the strength and dosage of each medication.

Step 5

The next screen will ask you to choose two pharmacies you prefer to use. Make sure to include mail order because it could save you money!

Step 6

If you want to keep your current plan, there is no need to do anything! And… WALLAH! You are done! That wasn’t so bad, was it? Come on now.. you must be pretty proud of yourself! We are sure proud of you!

Step 7

That same screen also ahs a button which says “View drugs and their costs”. This will allow you to see what your co-pays will be throughout the year.

Step 8

If the best plan for you is different than 2020, you will need to enroll. Print your confirmation page!
